I believe it is so crucial for us to understand the role of the heart when it comes to our daily walk with the Lord. The Bible tells us that out of the heart flow the issues of life, and so nothing is more important for us than to learn how to guard our hearts, how to keep our hearts set on Jesus and everything He’s made available to us through His finished works. And so I invite you to join me for a great time in the Word today, I believe it will be a blessing!

Labor To Rest (Hebrews 4:11)

Let us labour therfore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Hebrews 4:11 (KJV)

Laboring to rest is to get to where our our mind, our will and our emotions rest confidently in the finished works of Jesus. We do not labor get victory, we labor to get to the place of truly believing that Jesus has already won us the victory. We fill our minds and hearts with the Word of God until God’s promises become so real to us that all unbelief is cast out, and we rest in confident assurance of seeing God’s goodness in our lives.

Rest For The Soul (Matthew 11:28-30)

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)

We find rest for our souls in Jesus. Each day we are called to surrender the cares and concerns of life to Him, and allow our mind, our will and our emotions to rest in His grace and in His Word. Here we discover that His yoke is indeed easy and His burden light because He never calls us to do anything without also providing the grace necessary for us to do it. And so our walk with the Lord is a day by day and moment by moment looking to Him, and remembering that in the midst of all that is required of us there remains a place of calm and peace in Him.

Labor To Rest (Hebrews 4:11)

Let us labour therfore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Hebrews 4:11 (KJV)

Much of our walk with the Lord is about laboring to enter into rest. This is not speaking of a physical rest, but much rather of a resting of the soul. It is to get to the place where our our mind, our will and our emotions rest confidently in the finished works of Jesus. And so we do not labor in our soul to try and get victory, we labor to get to the place of truly believing that Jesus has already won us the victory. We fill our minds and hearts with the Word of God until God’s promises become so real to us that all unbelief is cast out, and we rest in confident assurance of seeing God’s goodness in our lives.
