Confident Expectation Of Good (Proverbs 4:18)

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Proverbs 4:18 (KJV)

In Christ we can always have a confident expectation of good. As we open ourselves to the favor of God that is in Christ Jesus, we may be sure that—no matter whether we find ourselves in the valley or on the mountaintop—good things are always coming out way. Let us take hold of this promise and rejoice in the goodness of our God!

Agree With The Word (Proverbs 30:5)

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 30:5 (KJV)

Putting our trust in God means trusting in His Word. Each day we get to choose to either agree with the word of man or with the Word of God. Let us be sure to agree with what God’s Word declares about us in Christ, and we will see as it proves itself to be true in our lives.

Trust Jesus (Proverbs 28:25)

He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, But he who trusts in the LORD will be prospered.

Proverbs 28:25 (NKJV)

Whenever there is pride, there will inevitably be strife. Trusting in ourselves is the root of all pride, and pride will always yield in some type of disappointment. Yet when we place all of our trust in Jesus, when we humble ourselves and He becomes our foundation for absolutely everything, scripture tells us we will be prospered. And real prosperity is defined as success, wholeness and peace in every area of our life with nothing lacking and nothing missing.

Authority Through Our Words (Proverbs 18:21)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)

The words we speak are so powerful they will determine whether what we bring about is life or death, victory or defeat. Speaking words of fear and unbelief will yield fruit accordingly, whereas words of faith enable God’s promises to come to pass in our life. God in His great love has given us authority in this earth, and one of the ways we exercise this authority is through the words we speak. Speak God’s Word, and be expectant for His goodness to show up in your life!

Cultivate A Heart Of Humility (Proverbs 11:2)

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Proverbs 11:2 (KJV)

Pride tends to distort our motivations and it clouds our judgement; it keeps us from acting out of true wisdom. God delights in our humility, for it is the humble heart that is most open and receptive to wisdom. When we look to God for wisdom, when we remain open and teachable, we may be certain that we will never be put to shame.
