Not Our Own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

What? know yet not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)

God’s presence and power dwells in every born again believer. So let us live every day knowing that we belong to the Lord, that we have been bought with a price, thereby opening ourselves to the life of victory and service to the kingdom that God has called us to live.

Know Who You Are (Galatians 5:16)

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:16 (KJV)

Walking in the Spirit begins with right identification. We learn to identify with who we are in Christ rather than with who we used to be in the flesh. Jesus through His finished works has made us one hundred percent righteous in Him. When this becomes the reality of our hearts, it becomes the standard by which we live. Right believing and right identification leads to right living.

No Longer Our Own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

What? know yet not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)

When we gave our lives to Jesus, His Holy Spirit took up residence within us. This means God’s presence and power now dwells in us. And so let us live every day knowing that we belong to the Lord, that we have been bought with a price, thereby opening ourselves to the life of victory and service to the kingdom that God has called us to live.

Receive The Word Into Good Ground (Mark 4:20)

And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Mark 4:20 (KJV)

When the seed of the Word is sown into the good and receptive ground of our hearts, we cannot help but produce fruit in our lives. As we bring forth fruit through the Word working in us, our lives become a radiant demonstration of the goodness, the glory and the unmerited favor of God.

Light In The Lord (Ephesians 5:8-9)

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),

Ephesians 5:8-9 (NKJV)

Knowing our identity in Christ is crucial when it comes to living in the fullness of life God has intended for us. We have been set free and delivered from any and all darkness, and we are now light in the Lord. Remembering who we have been made to be in Him becomes the foundation for strong and mature faith. Let us trust fully in the finished works of Jesus without wavering, and we will see the fruits of the Spirit manifesting in our life.

Listen To The Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16)

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

Romans 8:16 (NKJV)

The Holy Spirit makes spiritual truths real to us. One of the things He speaks to us of is our identity in Christ. He is continually whispering into our hearts that we are children of God, that we have His unmerited favor and blessing. The more we listen to the Holy Spirit who speaks to us through the Word of God, the less receptive will we be to the voices of fear, doubt, confusion or condemnation. Let us spend some time every day with the Holy Spirit as He guides us into all truth.

God Is At Work In You (Philippians 2:13)

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Philippians 2:13 (NLT)

God is working in us, transforming us from the inside out. As we put our faith in who Jesus has made us to be, the Holy Spirit produces in us the desire and the ability to live right. Yet all of this is predicated upon our belief. We must believe that Jesus has already made us righteous; then, following our right believing, the Holy Spirit will enable us to live and act in ways that correspond to what we say we believe.

Walk In Love (1 John 3:23)

And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

1 John 3:23 (NKJV)

Under the new covenant God’s commandment to us can be summed up in this: that we should believe on the Lord Jesus, and as a result walk in love towards each other. Notice that the commandment to walk in love follows our having received Jesus. And so everything begins and ends with Jesus. He puts us into right standing with the Father, and as a result of our right standing our conscience is cleansed, our hearts are purified, and we are made free to walk in love.
