Humility Leads To Greatness (Matthew 18:4)

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:4 (KJV)

Humility flows out of total and complete dependence upon God. Jesus is telling us that this childlike humility leads to greatness in the kingdom of heaven. And so the more that we can humble ourselves by keeping Jesus at the center, the more will we access His grace, and find favor and good success in the various arenas of life.

Trust Jesus (Proverbs 28:25)

He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, But he who trusts in the LORD will be prospered.

Proverbs 28:25 (NKJV)

Whenever there is pride, there will inevitably be strife. Trusting in ourselves is the root of all pride, and pride will always yield in some type of disappointment. Yet when we place all of our trust in Jesus, when we humble ourselves and He becomes our foundation for absolutely everything, scripture tells us we will be prospered. And real prosperity is defined as success, wholeness and peace in every area of our life with nothing lacking and nothing missing.

Sanctified Through The Word (John 17:17)

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 17:17 (KJV)

To be sanctified means to be set apart for God’s purposes. We are sanctified through the Word because the more that we allow the Word of God to fill our hearts and minds, the more will our thinking and our words reflect the purposes of God. This is when we find that God’s purposes for us are to have victory and good success in every area of life.

Humility Leads To Greatness (Matthew 18:4)

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus is telling us that this childlike humility leads to greatness in the kingdom of heaven. Humility Leads To Success (Matthew 23:11-12)

But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Matthew 23:11-12 (NKJV)

God’s ways are in direct opposition to the ways of the world. And so the kingdom path to success begins with humility. In all that we are called to do we never seek to exalt ourselves, but much rather are we to realize that we have been simply called to serve. Maintaining this servant attitude assures we do not lose perspective, and God has promised that those who set their hearts to follow His ways, in due time, will be exalted.

And the biblical definition of prospering is to experience success, wholeness and peace in every area of our life with nothing lacking and nothing missing.
