Speak Words Of Life (1 Peter 3:10-11)

For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

1 Peter 3:10-11 (NKJV)

The Bible tells us that if we want to love life and see good days, we cannot speak words of evil or deceit. Our words reflect what is in our heart, and so as we deliberately fill our hearts with God’s Word, as we allow the love of Jesus to saturateĀ us, we will find our words naturally coming into alignment with life and peace. Today, let us be mindful of this tremendous power that lies in our tongue, and let us purpose in our hearts to only speak words of life.

Grace And Humility (James 4:6)

And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

James 4:6 (NLT)

As we receive the grace of God in Christ Jesus, we humble ourselves by removing ourselves from the center of our lives and making Jesus the center of our lives. Self-effort always springs out of pride, whereas grace flows out of this act of humility of totally surrendering our lives to the Lord Jesus. Today, let us humbly look to Jesus, depending completely on His grace as His Holy Spirit works in us, transforming us from the inside out.

Working For Jesus (Colossians 3:23-24)

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT)

We are called to do everything unto the Lord. He is the one who has placed us in our current position, whether it be a job or a business. And so let us perform our every task with excellence, knowing that our reward will ultimately come from Him. When we show up every day with this spirit of excellence, no matter where we may currently find ourselves, we may rest assured that we will be blessed and that God will use us to be a blessing to others.

Casting Our Care Upon The Lord (1 Peter 5:6-7)

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:6-7 (KJV)

Casting our care upon the Lord is an act of humility. Humbling ourselves under His mighty hand means that we surrender even the smallest details of our life to the One who cares for us. Today, dare to cast all your cares, worries and concerns upon Him, and rest in His grace. It is from this place of resting in Him that the mighty hand of God will lead us, comfort us, deliver us, strengthen us, and ultimately, exalt us.

Fellow Laborers With God (1 Corinthians 3:9)

For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; you are God’s garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [you are] God’s building.

1 Corinthians 3:9 (AMP)

Every born again believer has an assignment from God, we have a role to play when it comes to God fulfilling His plans and purposes in this earth realm. And as we yield to God’s plans and purposes for our life, we ourselves are molded, shaped and developed in the process, the Holy Spirit working in us to make us more fully into all He has called us to be.

Choosing Love (Romans 13:8)

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:8 (NKJV)

The key to loving is to first receive God’s love for us. The more that we receive His love, the more will we be able to reflect it into our world. May we resolve to live lives of radical love, and in so doing follow the example of the One who loved us first.

The Rock Of Our Salvation And Our Strength (Psalm 62:5-7)

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Psalm 62:5-7 (KJV)

When we place all our trust and expectation in the goodness and faithfulness of our God, we will not be disappointed. While God often works through other people, let us remember always that He alone is the rock of our salvation and our strength.

Speak Words Of Life (1 Peter 3:10-11)

For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

The Believer’s Authority (Luke 10:19)

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:19 (KJV)

Every believer has been given authority in the name of Jesus over all of the forces of darkness. When confronted with things coming against us, we are to pray with confidence as well as speak boldly to the storms and to the mountains of life. And so let us stand firm in this authority, and let us rest in the quiet assurance that because the One who has already overcome the world now lives on the inside of us, we get to partake in His overcoming and see the fruits of it manifest in our lives.
