Depend On God In All Things (James 4:6)

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

James 4:6 (KJV)

To be proud is to think that we can be someone or achieve anything of lasting value separate and apart from God, whereas humility is to completely depend on God for everything. A humble person is not afraid to look to Jesus and say, “Lord, I need You. I cannot do this without You, I depend on You.” As we recognize our need for God in even the smallest areas of our life, we open ourselves to receiving an abundance of His grace—His unearned, unmerited favor—in those areas.
