This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 5:16 (KJV)
To walk in the Spirit means to identify ourselves with who we are in Christ—righteous and blameless before our heavenly Father through the finished works of Jesus. Our right standing before God has nothing to do with the actions of our body, and it has nothing to do with the mental and emotional condition of our soul; our right standing is found solely in our union with Christ through the Spirit. Yet when this becomes how we see and identify ourselves, our actions fall in line with our identity and we are able to overcome the temptations of the flesh.
