For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NKJV)
When we hear and receive the Word, let us remember that it is indeed the Word of God. This means that we will believe the Word no matter what. In other words, we believe the Word even when our circumstances contradict it, even when our bodies and emotions contradict it. As we receive the Word in this heart attitude of uncompromising faith, we are told that the Word works in us effectively. In other words, it begins to produce in us and in our lives the very things it had declared about us regarding our healing, deliverance, prosperity, and all of the things that pertain to our lives of victory in Christ.
